What security does Google Workspace have by default?

Google Workspace offers a number of security features to protect your email from spam, phishing, and malware. These functions include:

  • Spam filter: The Google Workspace spam filter blocks emails that are considered spam, based on a number of criteria, such as the sender's address, the content of the message, and the user's email history.
  • Phishing Protection: Google Workspace Phishing Protection blocks emails that attempt to trick users into divulging personal or financial information.
  • Malware scanning: Google Workspace malware scanning scans incoming emails for malware. If malware is found, the email is blocked and the user is notified.

Other Security Features

In addition to these features, Google Workspace also offers a number of other security features, such as email encryption, two-factor authentication, and access control.

Here is a summary of each function:

  • Spam filter: The Google Workspace spam filter blocks emails that are considered spam, based on a number of criteria, such as the sender's address, the content of the message, and the user's email history.

  • Phishing Protection: Google Workspace Phishing Protection blocks emails that attempt to trick users into divulging personal or financial information.

  • Malware scanning: Google Workspace malware scanning scans incoming emails for malware. If malware is found, the email is blocked and the user is notified.

  • Email encryption: Google Workspace email encryption encrypts email in transit, making it more difficult for hackers to intercept and read it.

  • Two-factor authentication: Google Workspace's two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring users to enter a security code when signing in, in addition to their password.

  • Access control: Google Workspace access control allows IT administrators to control who has access to the organization's data.

All of these features help protect your emails from spam, phishing, and malware. If you're using Google Workspace, make sure all of these features are set up and turned on
